Two men were detained on Thursday as a result of an ongoing investigation into several break-and-enter instances in Fredericton, according to police.According to authorities, the suspects were in possession of stolen land connected to instances in the investigation.The Fredericton police’s street crime unit detained 38-year-old Joel Brent Smith, who appeared in court Friday.READ MORE: Police seek help from break-and-enter investigation near FrederictonSmith is facing charges of possession of property obtained by crime, failure to obey the terms of an undertaking and failure to obey a custody order.He also has several pending criminal issues before the court has been held in custody for another court appearance next week.The next individual, a 51-year old Lincoln man, was released on circumstances and issued a promise to look for a Dec. 16 courtroom look. That means the information is public and we could disclose his name,” Bartlett said in an email. She said there are instances police are considering over the course of the past few weeks. “The investigation is continuing, so that I can not release a lot of details,” Bartlett said.
