Two men were detained on Thursday as a result of an ongoing investigation into several break-and-enter instances in Fredericton, based on police.According to authorities, the suspects were in possession of stolen land linked to cases in the investigation.The Fredericton police’s street crime unit detained 38-year-old Joel Brent Smith, who appeared in court on Friday.READ MORE: Authorities seek assistance in break-and-enter analysis near FrederictonSmith is facing charges of possession of property obtained by crime, failure to comply with the terms of an endeavor and failure to comply with a custody order.He also has many pending criminal issues before the court has been held in custody for another court appearance next week.The next individual, a 51-year old Lincoln man, was released on conditions and issued a claim to look for a Dec. 16 courtroom look. That means that the information is public and we could disclose his title,” Bartlett said in an email. She said there are numerous instances police are currently looking at over the course of the past couple of weeks. “The investigation is continuing, so that I can not release a lot of details,” Bartlett said.
